Snore Relief Introduction.

August 12th, 2010 . by admin

Snoring is extremely common. If you don’t snore yourself, no doubt you know someone who does. It can cause sleep deprivation not only to your partner but to the snorer themselves, even if they don’t know it. Getting snore relief can be a great relief to your partner, as well as yourself.

Snoring is obstructed air movement while breathing, which can be caused by many things. There are many snore relief methods out there, from simple easy lifestyle changes to commercial products, such as snore pillow. You might even consider talking to your GP or dentist about snoring help if it is that bad.

One of the easier snore relief methods you could try is losing a little weight. The less fat around the throat, the less likely it is to press on your throat. It is also good for your overall general health, which is a nice bonus. Your overall general health could also help with your snoring.

You could also try sleeping on your side. If you tend to sleep on your back, the reason for your snoring may be down to your tongue dropping to the back of your mouth. If you lie on your side, this is less likely to happen.

Another method, while not as easy, would be to stop smoking. Smoking can weaken the throat muscles as well as clog them, along with your lungs and nasal passages. It would greatly improve your chances of not snoring, and again, it is great for your overall general health.

If you have an alcoholic drink or two before bed, this can also be a cause of snoring. Alcohol causes you to relax, which can relax your throat muscles, causing you to snore. Simple things like this can make a great difference, try one a time rather than all of them, you might find some things work better than others.

As mentioned before, there are also many commercial products that can provide snoring help. They range from tablets and homeopathic remedies to snore pillow and snore mouthpiece. If none of the simple, free changes give you snore relief, you could move on to the commercial products. Best of luck on your snore relief quest!

Snore Relief for a Good Nights Sleep

September 4th, 2010 . by admin

Imagine heading off to bed. The moonlight is creaking through the curtains and is a calming presence in the room as you get ready to sleep. Just as you are about to fall asleep, you hear the dreaded buzzsaw coming from your partner. Imagine that buzzsaw all night long.

That noise is snoring and it is going to keep you up most of the night, if not all of the night. Snoring can be harmful to the person snoring as well as the person who is kept up all night. So Snore Relief is important.

Getting Snore Relief might seem like the Holy Grail. Once you finally get it and can fall asleep almost giddy at the idea that you won’t get woken up. For the person that snores though, it can be just as helpful for them to get Snore Relief, as it can damage their health in the long term.

Worse, in a quiet house, the snoring could be heard all over, even from another floor. I’ve heard it myself. I even heard my neighbour snore once, if you can believe that. So if the snoring is that loud, obviously it would be a good idea to get Snore Relief.

There are many Snore Relief products out in stores such as snoring aids and sleeping aids from snore mouthpiece to snore pillow to nasal sprays and so on. You can also seek professional help.

The cause of your snoring can range from a number of things; many people snore for many different reasons. Perhaps you are overweight, or it could be that certain foods in your diet are causing you to snore. These can be handled by simply getting more exercise, even if its just a 30 minute walk, its better than nothing. Monitoring what foods you eat and trial and error can help detecting if any foods are causing you to snore. A food diary can be a great help here.

The way you sleep can cause you to snore too. Not just the position you sleep in, but if your mouth is open you are more likely to snore too. Lying on your side and using Snore Relief products such as the snore mouthpiece or nasal strips can help you breath through your nose or breathe through your mouth while making sure you don’t snore during the night.

For some people, their snoring may just be down to a simple allergy, or just the air in the room they sleep in. An air filter or air purifier can be a great help here.

Overall, getting snore relief can be a long process or trial and error. There is no sure stop method. The best thing to do is see what works and what doesn’t. But it is always best to seek professional advice before trying anything.

What are the different types of Sleep Apnea?

September 1st, 2010 . by admin

Surprisingly or not, there are two types of sleep apnea; Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Sleep Apnea. Today we will be having a quick look at both and looking more into them over the next few days.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)

Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common of the two. OSA is caused by an obstruction in the air passageway, blocking the nose and mouth.

Central Sleep Apnea (CSA)

Central sleep apnea is less common than obstructive sleep apnea as it is not to do with an obstruction in the air passageway but rather more serious and as such needs more serious attention.

CSA is a disorder affecting the central nervous system. You may think breathing comes naturally but the brain does play a part. With CSA, the signal from the brain to get you to breathe is delayed. Obviously this can be very serious if not treated. What makes it more serious is that there is no cause for snoring, as the passageways are not blocked by CSA.

Causes for CSA include diseases or injuries that affect the brain, such as a brain tumor, stroke, infections or a respiratory disease. Treatments include medications to help you breathe better and oxygen administration.

While they might seem different, and they are, they both cause poor sleep and lack of oxygen, which can affect your daily life. Keep in mind that snoring or feeling tired during the day might not be a sign of sleep apnea or bad general sleep during the night. That said, if in doubt, as always, consult your GP.

Suddenly Snoring, Part 2

August 31st, 2010 . by admin

If you find you have started snoring all of a sudden, there are many reasons why. Like the previous post, we are looking at more possible causes for snoring. Hopefully you can get Snore Relief just as suddenly as you started snoring.

Like many things, snoring can run through the family. For example, some bloodlines may have a more narrow throat or nasal passage than others. If these areas are more narrow, then there is a more likely chance to snore.

Likewise, men genetically have a narrower air passage than women. So now men, you can always use this as an excuse, but I don’t expect it to hold well!

Age can also pay a factor, with older age comes more chance of snoring. This can be down to many reasons, such as weak muscles around the throat.

Having a cold or another illness that affects your respiratory can make you snore too, but obviously it would just be while you are battling the illness.

If you are unsure what to do about snoring it is always best to seek professional advice.
